Call for papers

The Sonoran Journal of Graduate Mathematics (SJGM) is to be electronically published twice a year. Thanks to everyone that helped get our first issue off the ground. If you would like to help with the editing process, please contact Jacob.

We are still accepting last minute submissions for the Spring 2006 issue!

We are currently looking for mathematical papers by graduate students in the following areas:

Algebra
Number Theory
Analysis
Discrete Math
Differential Geometry
Control Theory

Numerical ODEs/PDEs
Chaos/Nonlinear Dynamics
Mathematical Biology
Math Education
Statistics and Probability

We are looking for the following types of papers:

Survey of Current Research

Expository

Preliminary or Basic Research

In addition to mathematical papers, we are also looking for papers that describe an internship, industry, or academic experience. For example, "My Summer at Los Alamos", or "My Academic Job Search" would both be poorly named but appropriate nonetheless.

There is an obvious shortage of competent graduate students in some areas. This makes it very difficult to cover every possible mathematical topic. Sadly, some papers will be rejected because we cannot find a referee qualified in the topic of the paper. If this should happen, we strongly encourage that the author switch to a more common and less challenging area of mathematics.

Feel free to direct any questions to sjgm-editor@mathpost.asu.edu.
