Welcome

I am a graduate student pursuing my Ph.D. in Mathematics Education (Grades 9-20) at Arizona State University. I'm currently a full time instructor for the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences. In the past, I served as a graduate teaching associate for the School as well as a graduate research associate assisting Dr. Pat Thompson. My roles bring me into contact with a diverse group of individuals; from faculty in various departments to other graduate students to undergraduates.

My research passion lies within the realm of Statistics Education. This field is relatively young and is full of opportunities for understanding how individuals think about concepts in Statistics. My dissertation work focuses on students' understanding of stochastic processes as they develop a conception of a stochastic variable's distribution.

I obtained my Bachelors of Science-Mathematics with a Secondary Education Endorsement from Doane University (Crete, NE) in May 2009. While there, I minored in Speech Communication and Music. I received my Masters of Science in Education-Teaching Mathematics from Northwest Missouri State University (Maryville, MO) in April 2011.
