Mock Interviews

On March 23 the PFMF group attended Mock Interviews which was a co-session with PFF group.  Faculty members from four different disciplines, who have served on search committees,  interviewed participants for actually advertised positions in their field. Professor Dieter Armbruster, Math Department, was a member of the interview panel and  Cristina Negoita, a graduate student in theDepartment of Mathematics and a fellow of PFF,  was a participant being interviewed.

Each interview was followed by feedback to the applicants and a question and answer session with the audience. At the end, the audience disscused the mock interviews such as some commonalities and distinctions across the disciplines, good techniques in the responses of interviewees and on the part of the interviewer in eliciting a response.  Also, there was a discussion of a telephone interview.
