Job Search PartⅡand Job Interviewing Experiences
( prepared by Hiroko
Hashitomi )
On October 15 Professor Sharon Crook, a new
hire in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and Dr. Smith, recent
Ph.D. graduate of our department and former PFMF student shared their
experiences on their job interviews.
We mainly talked about two types of
institutions, liberal arts colleges and research oriented universities. Each
institution will be interested in different qualities in its faculties.
Therefore previous careful research for an institution is very useful. Overall
the most important thing is to be well prepared to know what you are looking
for and what institutions are looking for.
