Grant Writing Workshop I

Session on writing grant proposals given by Prof. Rosemary Renaut and Prof. Matthias Kawski.

Notes and Numbers:

  1. Funding
     

    • The federal government gives grants to influence the direction of the research

    • Reasons for applying for grads: summer pay, financial sources for technical and human resources, tenure requirement.

    • ASU gets $1 for every $2 the Principal Investigator (PI) gets.

    • Larger sources are National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes for Health (NIH)

     

  2. Available math funds

  3. Where is ASU?
