Yu-Ju Kuo's Projects
--Maintain PFMP website and Use blackboard
Monika and I maintained PFMF website in Fall 2001. We made an archive f or the information from previous year and updated the minimutes for each meeting. Moreover, I started to use Blackboard in Spring 2002. Blackboard is a well-designed website which provides a lot of features to help instructors communicate with students through internet. It is also very easy to use. I provided some solutions to homework, quizzes, projects at Blackboard and used it to remind sutdents upcoming activities in class. The statistic data also gave me a idea about how often students use it. Some interesting results which compares how often students check website and how they perform in their grade may be investigated.
--Matlab I collaborated with Keith Worth at SCC to develop a MATLAB project. The original idea of project was to help students in geometric view of epsilon-delta proof of continuity. However, after Keith presented the project to his colleagues, they provided some suggestions and thought that using this project in explaining the existence of the limit at a point would be more efficient. Keith will try this project in his summer calculus class.
